A 25-year-old man who was shot to death during an argument Saturday afternoon in Bronzeville has been identified.

Courtney Caldwell was shot three times inside an apartment in the 700 block of East 47th Street about noon Saturday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Caldwell, of the 7100 block of South South Shore Drive, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:43 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Marvin Lee, 34, was arrested after the shooting and faces one count of first-degree murder, according to police.

Police said at the time the shooter called police saying Caldwell had broken into his home, but it was later discovered that the two knew each other and had been involved in an altercation prior to the shooting.

Lee, who lives on the same block as the shooting, appeared in bond court Sunday, where a judge ordered him held without bond, according to police and the Cook County’s sheriff’s office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 16.
