Every week of the 2015 Chicago Bears season, Chicago Sun-Times Sports will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1985 Bears by speaking with players from the team including Jimbo Covert, Dan Hampton, Dennis McKinnon and Otis Wilson.

“Dave Duerson was my flight mate, which means that he sat next to me on away trips,” McKinnon said. “Everybody knows I don’t drink, so when we would be leaving the game and get back to the airport and be boarding the plane, the stewardesses would have ice in one hand and a beer in the other. I would give Dave my beer and he’d give me his ice. Because my knees were always bothering me.”
