The three men were standing on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of North Mayfield about 11:20 p.m. when someone in a passing vehicle shot them, police said.

Leonard J. Williams-Tate, 31, was shot in his right side and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 5100 block of West Wabansia.
