Police warn of armed robberies in Burnside

Police are warning residents of Burnside of two recent armed robberies in the South Side neighborhood.

In both incidents, the victims were seated in their vehicles when the suspects walked up, displayed a chrome or silver-plated gun and robbed the victims, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The most recent robbery happened about 3:25 a.m. Sept. 3 in the 9100 block of South Dobson, while the other happened about 10:20 p.m. Aug. 22 in the 9200 block of South Greenwood, police said.

The robbers are described as one or two black males, between the ages of 17 and 19, police said.
