A man was shot in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the 19-year-old was in the 3400 block of West 79th Street when someone walked out of a gangway and shot him in the groin, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said
