Man stabbed to death in Gary

A man was stabbed to death early Saturday in northwest Indiana.

Officers were called about 5:10 a.m. for reports of a stabbing in the 2000 block of West 5th Avenue, according to a statement from Gary police. They arrived to find the 25-year-old man with a stab wound.

The man, identified as Dan Hardy, was taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary, where he was pronounced dead at 10:39 a.m., the Lake County coroner’s office said.

Hardy, of the 300 block of Arthur Street in Gary, died of multiple stab wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said.
