28-year-old man reported missing from Gary

Police are searching for a 28-year-old man who has been missing from northwest Indiana for more than a week.

Michael J. Washington was last seen getting into a vehicle Sept. 30 near the Oak Knoll Apartments in the 4200 block of West 23rd Avenue in Gary, according to Gary Police Lt. Dawn Westerfield.

Washington, of the 4400 block of West 23rd Avenue, is described as a 5-foot-6, 140-pound black man with bald head, brown eyes and dark complexion, Westerfield said.
