Two teenage boys were wounded in a South Austin neighborhood shooting Monday night on the West Side.

The boys, ages 13 and 14, were passengers in a vehicle at 9:53 p.m. traveling east in the 5500 block of West Lake when a male on the sidewalk nearby opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The younger boy was shot in the left leg and the older boy suffered a gunshot wound to the right knee, police said. The boys later showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where both of their conditions were stabilized.
