Overnight lane and ramp closures will take place on northbound Lake Shore Drive and the Stevenson Expressway this Friday.

The right lane on northbound Lake Shore Drive will be closed from 1-5 a.m. Friday. The ramp from northbound Lake Shore Drive to the southbound Stevenson (I-55) will also be closed, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

A detour will direct LSD northbound traffic to exit at 18th Street and re-enter southbound Lake Shore Drive using the ramp to the southbound Stevenson. The work is for a stage change, part of the ongoing interchange reconstruction project, IDOT said.

The new traffic pattern will reduce Lake Shore Drive from four lanes to three lanes starting just before 31st Street. The new ramp will carry traffic from northbound Lake Shore Drive to the southbound Stevenson, according to IDOT.
