A man was shot Saturday night during a robbery in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

About 9:50 p.m., the 27-year-old was walking in the 300 block of South Karlov when another male walked up and, armed with a gun, announced a robbery, according to Chicago Police.

The man tried to grab the suspect’s gun, but was shot in the right hand and right hip, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
