Purple and Red line trains were briefly held up by fire department activity in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side Friday evening.

The trains were running again about 5:15 p.m., the Chicago Transit Authority said. The trains were halted about 4:20 p.m. due to an earlier fire near the tracks at the Wilson Station, 4620 N. Broadway.

There were no fires reported in the area, Fire Media Affairs said.
