A fireplace chimney in a north suburban Vernon Hills house caught fire early Friday.

At 2:15 a.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Lakeside Drive, according to a statement from Countryside Fire Protection District.

Crews struck out the exterior fire and then entered the residence. There were no injuries reported and everyone was out of the house prior to the fire department’s arrival, authorities said.
