Police search for burglars in Gary

Police are searching for two men charged with burglarizing at least two homes last month in northwest Indiana.

Derrick Austin, 24, of Chicago; and Allen Christopher Jones, 22, of Gary, are both charged with two counts of burglary and were at large as of Thursday afternoon, according to a statement from Gary police.

Austin and Jones are accused of stealing electronics from late Sept. 23 to early Sept. 24 from a home in the 800 block of North Warren Street, and again Sept. 28 from a home in the 1000 block of North Vanderburg Street, police said.

Police said additional charges are expected to be filed.
