Sen. Mark Kirk calls on GOP to replace Trump in wake of lewd tape

WASHINGTON – Sen. Mark Kirk R-Ill., locked in a re-election battle with Rep. Tammy Duckworth, called on Republicans to replace Donald Trump on the GOP presidential ticket on Friday, after a tape surfaced of Trump making lewd and sexually suggestive comments about women.

Kirk, who earlier withdrew his backing for Trump, said in a Tweet, Trump should “drop out. @GOP should engage rules for emergency replacement.”

He also said on Twitter, “DJT is a malignant clown – unprepared and unfit to be president of the United States.”.

Duckworth, who has been linking Kirk to Trump as a fellow Republican, said in a Tweet, “Yet another example of @realdonaldtrum’s disrespect toward women. Yet another reason he is unfit for the presidency.
