Jonathan Toews joins Twitter

Jonathan Toews’ voice is no longer confined to the Blackhawks’ dressing room.

The Chicago captain joined Twitter Sunday morning – firing off his first tweet around 10 a.m. By noon, @JonathanToews had more than 36 thousand followers.

One of those followers – teammate Andrew Shaw – didn’t let the occasion pass without poking fun at his captain.

But Toews, a fast learner, is catching on quickly.

The tweets came hours before the Blackhawks’ Stadium Series game against the Wild Sunday, which will be played at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium.
