A female was seriously injured in a crash early Sunday in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The female was driving a Buick SUV northbound in the 2600 block of North Kedzie about 4:20 a.m. when the SUV struck a lightpole at the intersection of Logan and Kedzie, according to Chicago Police.

The driver, whose age wasn’t immediately available, was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. She is expected to survive.

She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no valid driver’s license.
