The Blackhawks signed 2013 fourth-round pick Tyler Motte on Wednesday to a three-year contract, which begins next season. Motte is foregoing his senior year at Michigan in order to turn pro, and is expected to report to Rockford for the rest of this season

Motte burst onto the national scene as a junior at Michigan, posting 32 goals and 24 assists in just 38 games with the Wolverines. He was third in the nation in scoring, behind only linemates Kyle Connor and J.T. Compher. The 5-9, 193-pound Motte had 18 goals over his first two seasons.
