Police are warning South Side residents of four recent garage burglaries in the Washington Heights and Auburn Gresham neighborhoods.

The burglaries happened on May 18 in the 9000 block of South Laflin, on May 19 in the 8700 block of South Justine, and twice on May 22 in the 8700 block of South Marshfield, according to a community alert from Area South detectives.

The suspect enters the garage through the overhead door by force or after a homeowner left it open, and takes tools and yard equipment, police said.

Anyone with information should call the Area South Property Crimes Unit at (312) 747-8273.
