17-year-old shot in Washington Heights

A 17-year-old boy was shot Wednesday evening in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The boy was walking in Jackie Robinson Park in the 10500 block of South Morgan at 4:22 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the right leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized, police said.
