Bond was set at $250,000 Thursday for a man charged with breaking into a Lake View neighborhood apartment building’s storage unit earlier this month on the North Side.

Michael A. Baird, 34, went into the building in the 400 block of West Briar Place, broke off the lock to the basement storage unit and made off with several items on May 15, according to Chicago Police.

He was identified on surveillance footage and arrested Wednesday in the 5900 block of North Broadway, police said.

Baird, of the 2000 block of West Summerdale Avenue, faces a felony count of burglary. A judge ordered him held on a $250,000 bond at a Thursday hearing, and he is due back in court June 1.
