Two men were wounded in a West Garfield Park neighborhood shooting late Saturday on the West Side.

Just before midnight, they were on a sidewalk in the 700 block of South Independence when they heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

One man, 28, was shot in the left thigh, and the other, 29, in the left ankle. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related, police said.
