A southwest suburban man died Monday after a crash in New Lenox.

Jerry Lee Rucker, 57, was involved in a crash near Gougar Road and West Illinois Highway in New Lenox, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he was pronounced dead at 8:27 p.m. Monday, according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 1100 block of Kinmonth Drive in Joliet.

An autopsy Wednesday found that he died from multiple blunt force injuries as a result of a motor vehicle crash, and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The Will County sheriff’s office did not immediately provide additional details.
