Emergency pothole repairs are scheduled to begin on the Stevenson Expressway on Wednesday evening, if the weather allows.

Beginning at 8 p.m., pothole repairs will require the closure of the left lane of I-55, as well as the ramp from northbound Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson Expressway, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

A detour will direct drivers to exit at 18th Street and take southbound Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson, IDOT said. The lane and ramp were expected to reopen Thursday morning.
