A Berwyn man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a shooting in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Ismael Lopez, 24, was in the 4800 block of South Winchester about 1:45 p.m. when someone inside a red truck fired shots at him then drove off, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Lopez, of the 1500 block of Elm Street in Berwyn, was pronounced dead there at 2:51 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
