Two men were injured in a crash involving a van, a car and a semi truck Wednesday morning in north suburban Wauconda.

The crash happened at 7:44 a.m. on northbound Route 12, just north of Route 176, according to a statement from the Wauconda Fire District.

When firefighters arrived, they found a panel work van that had rolled over and ended up on its wheels in the southbound lanes of Route 12, blocking both lanes, according to the district.

A driver and passenger in the van, both men in their mid-50s, were semi-conscious and had to be extricated, according to district. Both were taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where their conditions stabilized.

A car and semi truck that were involved in the crash were on the shoulder of the northbound lanes, about 100 yards from the van when crews arrived, according to the statement. No one in those vehicles was injured.

Route 12 remained closed for cleanup for about an hour.
