Police are warning residents about a series of robberies reported in the past month in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

In each incident, someone has approached the victim and demanded property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies occurred:

  • In the late evening of July 26 in the 1900 block of South Troy;
  • In the evening of Aug. 2 in the 1900 block of South Kedzie;
  • In the afternoon of Aug. 10 in the 3000 block of West Roosevelt; and
  • In the afternoon of Aug. 13 in the 1900 block of South Kedzie.

Descriptions of the suspects in the robberies varied, but included one or more black boys between 11 and 16 years old, weighing 140 pounds and standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 with short black hair, police said. Other suspects were described as one or more black men between 30 and 40 years old with a dark complexion.
