A 1-year-old boy was shot in the head during an argument in south suburban Riverdale Thursday.

Police were called to a home in the 100 block of East 136th Street about 11:30 a.m., according to a statement from Riverdale police.

The boy was shot once in the head and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.

A gun was recovered at the scene at several people were taken into custody for questioning, police said.
