A bicyclist was injured in a crash Saturday night in southwest suburban Chicago Ridge.

A 26-year-old man was driving westbound at 11:09 p.m. on 111th Street near Mayfield Avenue when he noticed a bicyclist riding in the median, according to a statement from Chicago Ridge police.

The driver passed the bicyclist and then attempted to locate him in his mirrors when glass shattered and the driver saw the bicyclist fall to the ground, police said.

The bicyclist, a 61-year-old Evergreen Park man, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The driver called 911 and remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but police said no charges are pending as of Monday afternoon.
