A man was shot after he tried to shoot a woman in West Englewood early Friday, police said.

The 22-year-old man walked up to a woman, also 22, in the 7100 block of South Paulina about 12:30 a.m. and shot at her, police said. As he was running away, he was shot in the ankle.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.
