A man was shot early Sunday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 19-year-old was walking about 2 a.m. in an alley in the 4500 block of West Jackson when another male walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
