A 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound showed up at a hospital in the West Side Austin neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

At 12:41 p.m., the man was shot in the back in the 5500 block of West Monroe Street, Chicago Police said.

He was taken by an acquaintance to Loretto Hospital, police said. The man was in critical condition and may be transferred to Stroger Hospital.

Police said the victim is a documented gang member.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
