Gary police are searching for a 63-year-old man who has been missing from his northwest Indiana home since last week.

Johnnie Mitchell has not been seen or heard from since Friday, according to Gary police.

He is described as a 5-foot-9, 183-pound black man, police said. It is not known what he was wearing when he left his home.
