This is not the day to ask a boss, parent or anyone in a position of authority for permission or approval. You won’t get it. In fact, no matter what you do, it’s as if you encounter closed doors and stern faces. (Was it something I said? Is it my deodorant?) Just accept this and keep a low profile.

Your dealings with professors, teachers, travel agents, doctors and lawyers will be challenging today. If you can postpone requests that are medical-, legal- or travel-related, do so because today people are not cooperative. You gotta know when to hold and when to fold.
