Chicago Police are searching for a male who sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl Wednesday in Jackson Park.

Between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the girl was in a parking lot in the 6300 block of South Lake Shore Drive when a male walked up and “made inappropriate sexual contact” with her, according to a community alert from police. The incident occurred next to the Jackson Park beach house.

When the girl’s mother called to her, the male ran to his blue pickup truck with a black cab and drove away, police said.

He was described as a black male with dark eyes, a dark complexion and shoulder-length, black and gray dreadlocks or braids, police said. He wore black pants, a gold necklace and bracelet and a blue shirt with a word printed on it containing the letters B, C and Y.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Special Investigations Unit at (312) 492-3810.
