A 22-year-old man died after a crash Friday afternoon in northwest Indiana.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Main Street in Crown Point, according to Crown Point police and the Lake County coroner’s office.

Kurt Heerema, of Schererville, Indiana, suffered blunt force trauma in the crash and was taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health, where he was pronounced dead, according to the coroner’s office.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered injuries that were not serious, according to police.

Crown Point police are investigating.
