A 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg in the Austin neighborhood Sunday evening on the West Side.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of South Leamington and she was taken in good condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, according to Chicago Police.

The circumstances of the attack were unknown. Area North detectives are investigating.
