Man critically wounded in South Chicago shooting

A man was in critical condition after he was shot in the South Chicago neighborhood Wednesday evening.

The 21-year-old was driving east at 6:33 p.m. in the 2800 block of East 79th Street when someone shot him in the back, Chicago Police said. After he was shot, the man crashed into a parked vehicle.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.
