A 64-year-old woman wounded in a shooting Saturday morning in the South Side Gresham neighborhood was not the shooter’s intended target, according to Chicago Police.
The woman was on the sidewalk about 6:05 a.m. in the 8100 block of South Paulina when she saw two males between 17 and 20 years old, according to police. One of the males pulled out a gun and fired at the other, but he missed and struck the woman instead. She was not the intended target.
The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the calf and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.
