A man was shot in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side early Friday.

The 23-year-old was walking in the 5400 block of West West End about 12:18 a.m. when another male shot him in the right hand, Chicago Police said.

He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
