Two children were among 10 people injured in a four-vehicle crash early Tuesday on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The crash happened about 12:35 a.m. in the inbound lanes of I-90/94 near 95th Street, according to Illinois State Police. Information on the circumstances of the crash was not immediately available as investigators continued working to reconstruct the crash Tuesday morning.

Six people were taken to hospitals in serious-to-critical condition, while three more people were hospitalized in fair-to-serious condition, fire officials said. Police said a 10th person drove on their own to the hospital. Their ages and genders were not known.

Police said two children, a male and a female, were among the victims.

All inbound lanes of the expressway were temporarily closed, but reopened to traffic about 4:30 a.m., police said.
