A man was killed and another seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Monday on the Tristate Tollway near southwest suburban Hickory Hills.

About 4:15 a.m., a Ford Crown Victoria going south on Interstate 294 went off the road and rolled into a ditch when the driver tried to exit at 95th Street, according to Illinois State Police.

The front-seat passenger, 30-year-old Anthony C. Urbina, was ejected from the car. He and the 29-year-old man at the wheel were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where Urbina was pronounced dead at 4:41 a.m., state police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Urbina lived in the 1600 block of Carter Drive in Arlington, Texas.

The driver was listed in serious condition but had stabilized by Sunday afternoon. The car likely was speeding, and alcohol was thought to be a factor, ISP Master Sgt. Jerad Klint said. Charges were pending.
