A South Carolina man died early Monday after he was crushed by a semi trailer in southwest suburban Lemont.

Sherali Shadimatov, 28, was working on the truck when he was caught between the tires and the 54-foot trailer in the 1300 block of Main Street, according to Lemont police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m. Monday at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Monday found Shadimatov, who lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, died from crush injuries to the head caused by a semi truck, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled an accident.

Lemont Police Sgt. Thad Mezyk said the death appeared to be an accident and no foul play was suspected.
