A 14-year-old boy was shot Saturday afternoon in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

At 2:22 p.m., he was in the 6100 block of South Indiana Avenue when he heard shots and ran away before he realized he had been shot in the back, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition, police said.
