A man was killed and a woman was wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.
The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Michigan Avenue, according to Chicago police. Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said the man, 25-year-old Ventriease Criss, was shot in the head and the woman, 20, was struck in her left foot.
Both were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where Criss was pronounced dead at 4:33 p.m. and the woman was stabilized, authorities said. It was not immediately known where Criss lived.
The woman told investigators that the shots may have come from a passing brown vehicle, police said.
Area Central detectives were investigating.
