A man was fatally shot Wednesday morning in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

At 1:34 a.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots and found Jestin Walker face down on a sidewalk in the 8100 block of South Eberhart Avenue, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Walker, 23, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:40 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the Gresham neighborhood.

Area South detectives were investigating.
