19-year-old man fatally shot in Gary

A 19-year-old man was shot to death Sunday afternoon in Gary, Indiana.

Police responded about 3:40 p.m. for a man shot in an apartment complex in the 5100 block of Georgia Street and found Jack Daniel shot in a van, Gary police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:30 p.m., according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office. The coroner confirmed the death was being investigated as a homicide.

Daniel was a resident of Hebron, Indiana.
