Boy shot in East Garfield Park

A teenage boy was shot Thursday afternoon in the West Side East Garfield Park neighborhood.

The 15-year-old was walking on the sidewalk at 3:05 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Monroe when someone in a dark-colored van shot at him, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.

Police initially said a 51-year-old man had been wounded in the shooting.
