Man, 30, shot to death in Gary

A man was shot to death Wednesday afternoon in Gary, Indiana.

Officers were called at 1:53 p.m. about a weapons offense in the 400 block of West Ridge Road in Gary, according to a statement from Gary police. They arrived to find the 30-year-old man on the ground between two vehicles with gunshot wounds.

Markis D. Square was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Lake County Coroner’s Office. He lived in Gary.
