A man was shot in the head Thursday afternoon on the Far South Side.

Officers responded to the 13400 block of South Forest about 1:19 p.m. when they found the 23-year-old man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his head, Chicago Police said. He was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

A person of interest was released after being questioned by detectives Thursday afternoon, police said.
