A man was fatally shot Thursday night in the Southwest Side Lawndale neighborhood.

Tyree Davis, 25, was sitting in a vehicle about 9 p.m. when he was shot in the 1400 block of South Tripp, Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Davis lived in the Lawndale neighborhood, the medical examiner’s office said.

Police were conducting a homicide investigation.
